Coaching at Chandos

All coaches are excellent at teaching all levels of player, please see their specialist areas below. Demand for individual lessons is high so please contact individual coaches for their availability (see phone numbers below). Please note, we will allow a non member one lesson before the club requires membership. As a non member, each lesson is subject to a £40 coaching  fee and  a £12 per hour court fee if using an indoor court. Outdoor court fees are free. The indoor court fee should be paid prior to entering onto the court. Prospective members who do not want a lesson can have a free one-off 15 minute trial assessment with our Head Coach to outline the best tennis activities and opportunities that the club can offer to players of your experience and level. Our outdoor courts will be open for members use from Monday 29th March as per Covid-19 restrictions issued by our governing body, the LTA. Therefore to arrange an assessment or lesson in advance of joining, please fill in the ‘Join Us’ application form and you will be contacted to arrange as soon as possible. This will not be before 12 April with the understanding that we will be permitted on that date to re-open our indoor courts. Email our Head Coach Javier Romero at to arrange.

There can be high demand during peak times (after school and weekends) we would suggest that you email your details and times available to so that we can put you on a waiting list. If our coaches become available they will contact you.


For any child under 10 taking private lessons, the club requires an annual membership of £45.

For any child over 10, wishing to have private lessons, the Junior Membership is required.

Please note that a waiting list is in operation for Under 10 and Junior categories – fill in the form and you will be notified of an opening when this becomes available.



Our Coaches

Javier Romero (Head Coach)

After initially playing on the ATP Tour and achieving a world ranking Javier went on to continue with an academic tennis scholarship at an American University obtaining an International Business degree before becoming a professional tennis coach.

Gunther Darkey

Gunther has been a member of Chandos since 1998 and he has been a coach at the club since 2001. During this time he has gained a wide range of experience working with players of all ages and ability.

Natalie Neri

Natalie is an LTA licensed coach with over 12 years of experience as a Full and part-time coach in various clubs. Played on the Junior ITF circuit reaching a Singles ranking of 220 and Doubles ranking of 120.

Emilia Banos

Top level junior and senior player- number 1 in Surrey in 14 and 16 age groups. British Tour Masters winner. Full time player with International experience and has gained WTA points. She brings 4 years of experience of tennis coaching at all levels and is an LTA Qualified Coach Level 3.

Ken Oishi

Ken played for many years on the ITF tennis circuit and has plenty of experience with top players having trained and worked with Ivanovic, Kerber and Muguruza. Further to his tennis expertise, Ken is a qualified fitness/strength and conditioning coach. His coaching method revolves around building very sound technical fundamentals which would enhance athletic discipline,

Daniella Taub

Daniella is a Level 4 LTA licensed coach and has played to a high club standard for over 20 years. Her previous club Cumberland LTC is where she started her coaching career specialising in Mini Tennis for 5 – 10 year olds. She co-founded and developed ‘Little Smashers’ tennis programme  based at Swiss Cottage Leisure

Bobby Saraby

Bobby started playing tennis at the age of 4. He has represented Middlesex at 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 age groups and at Middlesex County Events. Ranked in the top 50 in Great Britain for his age. He holds a BA Sports Management Degree at London Metropolitan University. He holds an LTA rating of 3.2
