Latest Information for Wimbledon 2021
On 22 February in response to the Government announcement regarding Covid-19, the AELTC made the following statement:
“We welcome the government’s announcements today and we look forward to continuing to work with them and the rest of sport with the ambition of welcoming spectators safely to our events this summer.
We will continue to plan based on our aspiration of staging the best Championships possible with the health and safety of all our guests, staff and competitors remaining our highest priority. We remain focused on developing our plans within the scenarios of full, reduced and no public capacity so that we can remain as agile and flexible as possible to the government and public health situation.
While the success of the ongoing vaccination programme is very heartening, we recognise the need for a cautious approach at this point in time.”
It is planned that the Championships will go ahead from 28 June-11 July 2021. We will update the status of he Wimbledon ballot as soon as we have been notified accordingly.
Ballot General Information
As an LTA registered place to play, the Club receives an allocation of Wimbledon tickets based on the number of British Tennis Members linked to it and ‘Opted- In’.
The club runs a ballot which is open to all Adult and Junior British Tennis Members linked to the club and ‘Opted-In’. This ballot is run manually and notice of the ballot date will be sent by email and displayed on the notice board in the lobby area. We will be offering strawberries and cream on the day.
Please login to the members area of the LTA website to check your membership status, link yourself to Chandos Tennis Club and check that your contact details are correct.
If successful in the ballot, the LTA will use these details to contact you to arrange payment and delivery of the tickets.
The AELTC Public Ballot
Entry into the Ballot does not automatically entitle applicants to tickets for Wimbledon, but to a place in the draw for tickets. It is not possible to request tickets for specific days or courts, as the day and court offered are chosen randomly by a computerised selection process.
